Search Process

Ernst David International Associates consistently approach each executive search assignment in a five step process, developed and refined over 20 years of experience recruiting senior level executives and professionals.

Step 1: Identify Parameters and Specifications

  • Develop understanding of client’s business, organization, and culture, and issues
  • Develop scope of responsibility, compensation, reporting relationship, and profile of desired executive
  • Develop and review search plan with client

Step 2: Identify, Assess Potential Candidates

  • Identify, confirm, and access all sources
  • Identify potential candidates, including internal as appropriate
  • Screen and evaluate candidates
  • Conduct preliminary referencing
  • Develop short list of candidates
  • Prepare detailed candidate profiles

Step 3: Interviewing and Selection

  • Workshop with client to develop selection criteria and session on interviewing
  • Presentation of short list candidates
  • Facilitate client interviews with candidates
  • In-depth reference checking

Step 4: Selection and Negotiation with Finalist

  • Coordinate finalist interviews
  • Develop and negotiate terms and conditions of engagement
  • Finalize with client and selected candidate

Step 5: Follow Up

  • Coordinate transition for finalist
  • Coach finalist on exiting existing situation
  • Follow up with finalist for one year and feedback to client
